Hey Mama! Yes, I’m talking to you! Maybe you’re like me where sometimes you feel you just have so much going on in a day serving your family and everyone else around you, that you just don’t simply have the time to take care of yourself. Let alone trying a trendy makeup look! What’s an easy Halo Eye, anyway??
I totally get the feeling!
So how about we get over that, okay? Let’s stop caring so much about old we are, or how out of our comfort zone we may get when it comes to makeup, or what other people may think. Adding some new flare is always fun!
An easy Halo Eye is just for you!
“But I don’t know how!”
I got you, babe…
Enter YouTube.
With all the tools and resources literally at our fingertips, I often find myself extremely grateful. I love that I can pop on my phone or laptop and find a new look.
I know it’s time to freshen up my look or try something new when I’m feeling stuck in a rut with my look.
As I was perusing through YouTube I was noticing all the rage for the “Halo Eye”, so I figured I’d give it a shot.
Now trust me when I say the first thing that popped into my mind was “I am a mom of 4 in my mid-40s, should I REALLY be trying this look and then actually leaving the house with it?”
So ya know what I’ve learned? When you start doubting yourself and the voices in your head start giving you a hard time… go BIG and BOLD!
Shut those voices right up! I’m in my mid-40s… not dead! Let’s do this!
Not only did I try this look, but I made a video, then I took my boys to their basketball practice!! Yes, I sat there with my halo eyes while they practiced.
And now I’m sharing the video with you. I’m really putting myself out there.
I am NOT a makeup artist, nor a professional teacher, nor do I pretend to be.
I’m just a mom who likes to shake things up a bit. That’s all.
I talk about New Year’s Eve in this video but this look can seriously be used any time.
This look is so fun and so easy to do… I just love it and couldn’t wait to share it with you.
Please share your recreations with me!! All the deets are below.

A fun and easy Halo Eye look featuring:
Artistry Studioâ„¢ Eye Shadow Palette – La Palette: City of Lights.
For this look, I used ALL Artistry and Artistry Studio brand makeup products.
This brand is by far my most fave… especially now as I’m aging. I will get more into the fantastic skincare line in another post.
Setting the stage:
- Beauty Balm Primer
- Youth Xtend Foundation – Natural
- Loose Powder – Medium
- Exact Fit Concealer – Light
Eyes & Eye Brows:
- La Palette: City of Lights
- Kajal Eyeliner – Amethyst
- Eyebrow Pencil and Brush
- Mascara Primer
- 3-in-1 Lash Boosting Mascara
Cheeks & Highlight:
- NYC Downtown Deep Palette
- Illuminating Palette
Lips:
- 2-in-1 Matte Lip Crayon – Fuchsia Goddess
NOTE: Next time I do this look I will definitely choose a more nude lip to really allow my halo eye look to pop. By choosing the fuchsia lip it sort of stole the spotlight from my eyes. A nude lip will allow the spotlight to go back to my halo eyes.
Here’s what I will choose next time:
- Artistry Studio Liquid Lipstick – Notre Dame Nude
Brushes:
- Artistry Brush Set
